Larne Wellington

Director & Principal Psychologist

Based in Brisbane, Larne is an experienced Psychologist, registered Family Mediator, writer and parent who brings a refreshing and positive approach to her work with children, adults and families. She specialises in the areas of anxiety, phobias, depression, stress, workplace issues, social cognitive difficulties, grief and loss, post-natal depression, relationships, blended family and parenting issues.

Larne is passionate about improving the health and well-being of children and adults using evidence-based practice. She works with clients collaboratively to help them overcome challenges, build resilience and create positive change. As a parent, she understands the pressures of modern family life as well as the unique needs, trials and challenges children face growing up in a digital world.

Larne’s background in psychology and knowledge of Family Law helps to contribute to the success she has as a Family Mediator. She is able to guide parents that are experiencing issues and challenges due to separation towards workable and acceptable resolutions. Larne has a special insight into the importance of child-focused mediation due to her extensive experience supporting and counselling children after separation.

Larne has made contributions to various publications including Body + Soul Magazine, Girlfriend Magazine and Good Health. She has been a guest on the Talking Life program on 96.5 FM and has been featured in a two-part documentary series on SBS called Once Bitten: Love the second time around.

Bija McPherson

Administration Support

Bija provides administration support and virtual services to Positive Families. She is currently completing a Diploma of Mental Health.

Chloe Parton

Confident Kids Group Facilitator

Chloe is studying psychology at the University of Queensland, and will commence her Honours year in 2021. She has 4 years experience working with school age children in after school care, and has developed her skills in behaviour management, helping children regulate their emotions and build positive relationships. Chloe has been facilitating and assisting in the Confident Kids groups since 2018. She plans to work in the area of Child Psychology once she has completed her studies.
